Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking for information on Glasheen Girls National School. I saw a lot of information about the Boys school but nothing on the Girls school. I have a daughter and a son. My daughter is older so I am trying to decide where to send them. Any information on Glasheen Girls school would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

I have a daughter and I have only the best to say about the school. Plenty of variety and a good atmosphere in the school. Principal and teachers are very helpful and understanding. Very hard working staff. The Boys school is the same.

Also, there is really healthy co-operation between the two schools which are on the same grounds. This would be good if your daughter and son were both in Glasheen eventually. They have all the same days off and are involved in many joint ventures. Not sure if this is of any help to you but I've been very happy with the schools.

Lots of great things have happened in this school. Place has had a huge makeover and is really modern. They have a new website too. Both schools for boys and girls are really good. Have heard alot of people speaking really highly of them in recent years.

I have friends whose daughters attend Glasheen Girls and they are all very pleased. I have all boys so it's Glasheen Boys school I am really familiar with and I could not praise it enough. The two schools are right beside one another so many of the other Mums and Dads I meet are from the Girls school and they seem to have similarly good stories,Lots of improvements are evident in both schools. The whole place has a very modern feel. I was talking to a few parents whose children started secondary school this week but were in Glasheen last year (boys and girls). The kids and parents can believe that they don't have interactive whiteboards but blackboard and chalk! They were used to having them in all their classrooms in Glasheen.

From Glasheen Boys they mainly go to Colaiste an Spioraid Naoimh where I went from Glasheen Boys. Some of my friends also went to Pres and a few went to Colaiste an Chriost Ri. Others went to secondary schools near where they live as some people come to Glasheen Primary to be near where their parents work or child minding etc . It's a very popular school with people from a wide radius so there can be people going to other schools too. From Glasheen Girls they mainly go to Mount Mercy or St. Als. Again, you will have a few going to other schools too but they would be the main two. Hope that helps.

I didn't mention that Glasheen schools have several preschools nearby also. There's a preschool in the school itself and it's also just up the road from Colebrook Montessori. In the other direction is UCC creche and preschool so there's a great selection. There are several others. I think they may even be listed on the websites of the girls and/or boys schools.
